April - Easter
Easter is just around the corner and that four-day weekend is well deserved by all of us! Time to take a break, reconnect with loved ones, spend some quality time doing what you love or even get away to somewhere new. Getting outdoors (though it may be a little cold) and including a little bit of physical activity into your break may give you a new spring in your step come Tuesday.
What a couple months it has been getting back into work this year and then all the weather we’ve had, as a nation we are seriously feeling it! It can be super hard to take a step back and take a breath but take this opportunity to decompress. There are support systems in place if you need them, friends, family and feel free to reach out to myself I’m always here for a chat.
With all the stress and commotion, it is super important to look after ourselves by being careful and aware of the effects of burnout, emotional, physical, or even spiritual. People often look passed the spiritual aspect of Easter and think ‘this doesn’t relate to me’, but we all have our own belief and value system, which count too. I’m an ‘active rester’, so my belief and value system tells me I need to be doing chores all the time. This can bring on burnout to motivation and joy in day-to-day activities, and if this is getting low and you are feeling low, then you may be suffering from spiritual burnout. To avoid this, remember there are support systems in place if you need them, friends, family and feel free to reach out to myself I’m here for a chat.
For those needing more support with Cyclone Gabrielle remember to use the support systems available at www.civildefence.govt.nz
All in all, it is important to remember its Easter, so relax, and feel absolutely no guilt when indulging in your favourite chocolate or a hot cross bun! Hope everyone has a great break!
