To become a full Master Plumbers member, you must be a registered plumber, gasfitter and/or drainlayer engaged in business on your own account. Master Plumbers membership caters for everyone from sole traders to small businesses and larger employers.
Full Master Plumbers membership is also open those conducting a business associated with the industry, such as energy companies and city councils, who employ certifying plumbers, certifying gasfitters or registered drainlayers but are not engaged directly in business in the industry.
Cost: $1,067 (plus GST) per annum.

If you are employed by a Master Plumbers member company, you can apply for free employee membership with the support of your employer.
Cost: free
Benefits: quarterly newsletter
This category is open to licensed plumbers, gasfitters and drainlayers who are employed by an organisation or company that is not itself a plumbing, gasfitting or drainlaying business.
Cost: $150 plus GST
Benefits: quarterly newsletter; NZ Plumbers' Journal; member rates for upskilling courses
Anyone who has retired from business as a Master Plumber and was in good standing at the time of retirement can apply for this membership category.
Cost: $150 plus GST
Benefits: member website access; NZ Plumbers' Journal; member rates for upskilling courses
Associate membership may be applied for by individuals or organisations that have a significant association with the industry.
Cost: $400 plus GST
Benefits: NZ Plumbers' Journal; MP Alerts e-newsletter
